Some peoples expectations of products are way too high.Remember the bike is a low cost bike in the market,so it may have alot of inherent problems that a higher cost bike would not.Its like people that buy Sport Uts now which most are just bigger trucks, and expect them to be silent, ride like caddys, and bullet proof.
I'm not saying this is your case, but remember everytime the bike burps,or farts or squeeks doesn't mean it has to bo fixed or that something is wrong.
Sounds like you may have an electrical problem that the mechanic hasn't found or has found and is simply raking you over the coals in repair bills every time you bring the bike in.You should find a different mechanic if nothing more than a second opinion, and let him keep the bike for a couple weeks and see if he can find what is causing the problems,it could be as simple as one wire or a bad connection or plug.
I fixed a speedoeter(inop) problem in a mustang last week that as nothing more than the customer had put the fuse in the wrong slot. One other mechanic(in our shop) told her she needed a new speedo head which would cost her 500 bucks, when alli did was put the fuse in the correct slot.I really feel the mechanic did not care about fixing the customers car and was more interested in making money.Moral to the story is if you don't feel you are being served at that shop,or the bike isn't being fixed right, find another shop, look through the yellow pages. You may find a good honest mechanic in an unlikely place.
And again make sure your expectations aren't too hih for the level of bike you have.Good luck, and i hope i aven't affended anyone.
